Systems Manager

Link Technologies is currently recruiting for a SYSTEMS MANAGER. This is a contract position working on an exciting new project in Colorado Springs, CO. Candidates interested are encouraged to apply.

SUMMARY:

Manage a team of technical specialists that provide routine and on demand support to all mission functions of the program; including the following: systems, AIX, DB2, SQL/DBA, Storage Area Network (SAN), Windows, Network and Server administration. The Systems Manager will support project management, scheduling, performance metrics and analysis. Facilitate technical support to the program mission from start to completion for each product. Maintain detailed accounting and reporting of key system indicators related to the client site and program mission. Troubleshoot, identify, and report inaccuracies with the system and process cycle. The Systems Manager reports to the Program Site Manager.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- In support of the Program/Site Manager, provide daily leadership, assure that all routine and ad hoc project management/scheduling, system administration and IT infrastructure processes are handled to Government Program satisfaction
- Develop, update and continuously train team on standard operating procedures
- Measure, monitor and operate a continuous improvement program related to functional area
- Provide subject matter expertise to program on performance metrics and action plans to take key system indicators from concept to implementation
- Conduct basic validation tests and daily administrative functions to assess system integrity and evaluate adherence to customer-established standards
- Publish and report daily situation and status reports, as required
- Identify and publish risk and associated mitigation plans
- Interface and brief customer on system architecture and project management items as required
- Supply other managerial functions to team with guidance from Site Manager; such as: performance reviews and metrics, coaching/consulting, personnel task assignment, in- and out-of cycle reporting and status of team's activities and/or issues
- Support and assure adherence to all corporate and client site policies

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

- 5+ years of experience as an Information Systems Manager, Program/Project Manager with ancillary experience in Facility and IT Security Analyst supporting various infrastructure and software architecture environments
- Advanced knowledge of program/project management practices
- Security directives, policies, publications and regulations familiarity
- Exceptional with Systems administration, architecture, and program development processes
- Clear understanding of IT infrastructure standards and have experience with software and security architectures
- Understanding of how to design and implement systems tests in accordance with stated criteria
- Proficient with standard practices of Intranet and Extranet architecture
- Experience with Linux/UNIX/AIX and Windows Server 2008
- Expert understanding of protocols, such as, SSL/TLS, CIFS, HTTP/S, DHCP, SMTP, LDAP/S and DNS
- Knowledge of networking concepts and services, such as, VPNs, IPSec, PKI and TCP/IP
- Expertise with the accreditation process in support of such programs as DIACAP
- Strong familiarity with ITIL v3 Model Processes

PREFERRED SKILLS:

- PMP certification
- Experience with well-known industry program/project management applications to include enterprise systems
- Experience with well-known systems administration (AIX, SAN, DB2, SQL, Linux), change management, and troubleshooting practices
- Remedy/ClearQuest ticket system
- Managerial experience such as coaching, interpersonal communications, conflict resolution, negotiation along with some limited budget responsibility

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENT:

- A Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or other related technical discipline with 5 or more years related professional experience. (Education may be substituted for 8 years of experience).

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT:

- Minimum Active DoD Secret

WORKING HOURS:

- Day, 8AM - 5PM; Some on call
