At ITV, our goal is to create exciting, entertaining and personalised online experiences that aim to bring consumers back to the site again and again. We are looking for experienced System Integration Testers to help support us to achieve that goal.

ITV is the biggest commercial television network in the UK. Behind every famous ITV face, there are hundreds of others, all doing their bit to make things happen

As an essential member of the ITV Test Department you will be responsible for driving forward progressive and efficient System Test processes and practises across ITV. You will be working with many diverse projects, including ITV Player, brand new sites, internal systems across a multitude of platforms, games consoles, TVs, Mobiles and much much more!

ABOUT YOU

You should be keen to work as a System Integration Tester in an agile environment. You should be comfortable finding out about new systems, and take the initiative to discover new information when required. You will be responsible for continually learning and applying new and relevant technologies; ensuring you are abreast of developments in testing methodology.

You will support the end-to-end test process to ensure its consistent application across the Engineering team, encouraging Behaviour/Acceptance Test Driven Development techniques

(BDD/ATDD) including exploratory testing where appropriate, You will be comfortable actively participating in lively technical discussions with developers and developers-in-test and be able to utilise creative approaches to testing the un-testable!

You will be the go-to person and subject-matter expert for your product or project area, anticipating improvements and making recommendations for enhancement or supportability in future versions.

ABOUT YOU

- Have a keen interest to work within the media industry
- Implement a risk based approach to testing
- Encourage use of Exploratory Testing techniques
- Where required, displays ability to create clear and concise manual test scripts,
- ensuring re-usability and maintainability
- Show deep interest in testing as a profession and actively researches and applies
- new methods to improve testing quality, coverage and efficiency
- Show deep technical awareness of issues and ability to seek out genesis of defects
- Be able to track down the area of defect using de-bugging tools/analyse stack traces
- Gain knowledge of the user domain and functionality of the system that is worked on
- Have knowledge of test automation concepts including BDD, TDD, ATDD
- Understanding and ability to programmatically interact with data formats such as XML and JSON
- Understand of Databases and SQL queries and ability programmatically interact with data API's
- Be comfortable learning how to manage our test environments
- Able to assure cross-browser and cross-platform systems
- Have previous experience of device testing: Web, Games Consoles, TVs or Mobile
- Really enjoy the opportunity to work in a diverse and progressive department

A background in media broadcasting is preferable but is not essential.
