Systems Engineer Windows, Vmware, Bank, Brussels

BACKGROUND:

You will join the IT Infrastructure team at my client, a leading Bank, which provides the bank with IT infrastructure support. The team is responsible for the set-up and support of the infrastructure required for application integration in production and non-production environments. These environments host multi-tierDefine and document improvement
-Validate the implementation; Ensure support (Documentation, Procedures, Contracts); Monitoring (alerting, performance, capacity).
- Collaborate with the Technical Domain Owner for the Windows domain in providing guidance and support within the assigned area (of product ownership).
- Performing technical prototyping for new (and new versions of) products and technologies.
- 3rd Line production support;

ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

You must have a minimum 7 years of IT experience (at least 4 of which are in Systems Engineering) .
Minimum 5 year of experience in the following areas:
- VMware Virtualisation technology expertise (including Vsphere 4
- Experience in implementing virtualization in large environment (500+ virtual machines);
- Experience with VMware key technologies such as DRS, Vmotion, HA, Clustering, Shared datastores, etc.
- Windows Server operating systems knowledge (including Windows 2003 and 2008 R2);
- Windows MSCS and failover clustering.
- Directory Services: MS Active Directory (Security structure, GPOs, ADAM, etc);
- IP Networking: DNS, WINS, DHCP .

NICE TO HAVE BUT NOT ESSENTIAL:

- Vcloud director
- Microsoft Virtualisation technology MS HyperV;
- EMC Fibre Channel Storage Solutions (Symetrix, Vmax);
- EMS NAS storage solutions (Vnx, Clarion);
- Cisco Nexus switching and related network virtualization solutions;
- Monitoring (IBM Tivoli);
- File and Print services;
- Various: Software distribution, Antivirus (MCAfee), Backup (Tivoly Storage Manager), Scripting (Powershell, VBS, Perl), Remote control;
- HP Server Hardware (Rackable, Blades, management tooling).
