SYSTEMS ENGINEER needed for a CONTRACT opportunity with Yoh's client located in Ft. Wayne, IN.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- Lead others in the technical aspects of design documentations and implementations
- Install, configure, maintain Servers, applications and manage and document hardware and software requirements.
- Perform network and server maintenance and performance tuning
- Maintain and monitor all applications, connectivity, and server hardware to ensure systems availability
- Document internal processes. Experience in creating Design Documentation for a new or existing system being installed
- Assist Application Development teams with software deployments and implementations
- Implement and maintain application and server security
- Establish and maintain backup and recovery policies/procedures and perform all server data backup and restoration functions
- Provide Tier 2/Tier 3 and 24/7 technical support
- Maintain assigned systems and software. This would include all batch jobs, system alerts, administrative programs, monitoring, and any other miscellaneous utilities used by the system or operations team
- Responsible for shared 24x7 coverage of the infrastructure and applications that the team supports. Will require occasional after-hours work and after-hours on-call duties.
- Provide general consultation and training to Tier 1 & Tier II NOC/Provisioning Support
- Create and maintain application, server, design documentation and standards
- Perform application and server capacity planning
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies
- Analyze and review the Infrastructure components of vendor software packages or managed services
- Provide project management oversight for Infrastructure projects and work closely with the IT/NOC Project Management Office to accomplish project-related tasks

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- B.S. in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field and 4-5 years' experience in an advanced Systems Administration role or equivalent professional experience
- Ability to create and review design documents to implement Application and Servers configurations.
- 2-3 years leading others in a technical field to accomplish objectives and goals for upper management.
- Must be proactive and have a strong work ethic
- Must have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Must be able to work independently and in a team environment
- Must have good written and verbal communication skills
- Must have good organization and planning skills
- Creative and persistent at solving technical problems in a proactive, planned project basis as well as a crisis/problem recovery situation
- Ability to multi-task well including priority management
- Advanced knowledge/experience with Sun Oracle Server and Virtualization: Sun Oracle, VMware
- Knowledge loading the Solaris OS and loading an OS via Jumpstart
- Strong Unix Shell Scripting
- Experience leading other technical staff in delivering a solution
