THE BIG PICTURE - TOP SKILLS SHOULD YOU POSSESS:
- This Systems Design Lead/Systems Integrator position reports to the applicable project head.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:
- Develop systems specifications for Landing Gear Controls, Steering, Actuation and other associated systems. Provide technical leadership for all Systems design related tasks of the project assigned.
* Develop Systems specifications, regulatory, industry, military and internally derived requirements.
* Prepare, check and/or approve the specifications for systems components including interconnecting electrical wiring.
* Develop interface definition with other aircraft electrical and hydraulic systems and sub systems.
* Prepare, check and/or approve qualification and certification test plans/procedures for systems and their components, including software certification.
* Coordinate hardware buy vs. build trade-off analysis in design development and support supplier selection.
* Interface with Customers and Suppliers on a regular basis supporting the design definition and reviews through all development phases.
* Witness the testing and support the systems integration on test rig, avionics test bench and flight test.
* Perform and/or approve different analyses of electrical and hydraulic systems and their components to support compliance by analysis.
* Prepare, check and/or approve the design compliance documentation.
* Work closely with the Reliability, Maintainability and Safety group in developing reliability predictions, FMEA's, FTA's, (Preliminary) Systems Safety Analysis (PSSA/SSA), including reliability demonstration test plans as required.
* Have Project Lead/Systems Integrator role for hydraulic Actuators and/or Steering and other associated systems.
* Be responsible for electrical dressing deliverables per program schedule.
* Support the Test Lab in development/procurement of related test equipment.
* Support R&D activities and prototype development of electro-mechanical and hydro-mechanical components and systems.
* May perform other duties as assigned or apparent.
* Occasional travel between customer/suppliers locations. Long term assignments may be required during the joint definition phases for new programs.
WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering required from an accredited university. Registration in a professional engineering association is favoured.
- Experience working on sub-systems requirement generation and administration using DOORS software
- Experience with validation/verification process and can understand and define requirements
- Minimum 10 years of experience in electrical/mechanical systems and electrical/mechanical components design testing and certification.
- Familiarity with typical electro-mechanical/hydro-mechanical components used in Landing Gear Systems is beneficial.
- Knowledge of FAA/EASA. Industry (RTCA, SAE, ARINC, etc.) and military requirements/specifications.
- History of successful product design activities.
- Skills and desire to drive/lead projects.
- Good written and verbal skills.
- Capable to work simultaneously on multiple assignments.
- Experience working within a team oriented organization.
- Successful candidates must meet all requirements under ITAR & CCGP
- This is a twelve (12) month contract, paying between $38 - $43 per hour.
BONUS POINTS! OTHERWISE KNOWN AS PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Aerospace experience preferred.
