Systems Engineer Job

SYSTEMS ENGINEER needed for a LONG TERM CONTRACT opportunity with Yoh's client located in Erie, PA.

TOP SKILLS YOU SHOULD POSSESS:

- Systems Engineering
- Electrical or Computer Engineering
- Serial and/or Ethernet Communication
- Linux/QNX

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- Design, integrate, implement and validate Onboard Information, Networking & Communication (OBINC) function
- Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product/program requirements
- Lead/Support investigation, root-cause identification, and resolution of reliability issues.
- Interact with internal and external customers, vendors, and industry agencies
- Document technical data generated by the assigned project consistent with engineering policies and procedures
- Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments
- Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Computer Engineering
- At least three (3) years of experience in an engineering position
- Experience with serial and/or Ethernet communication
- Experience with QNX/Linux OS
- Ability and willingness to work "hands-on" in test labs and on locomotives with high HP (1000 KVA), medium voltage (2 KV) and high current (10 KA) systems

BONUS POINTS! OTHERWISE KNOWN AS PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- Experience with system and component level validation testing
- Experience with transportation/locomotive systems, control, diagnostics, design and test
- Experience with Human Machine Interface and human factors analysis for Embedded systems
- Experience with Design For Six Sigma (DFSS) tools, FMEA
