SC6097 Systems Engineer (ITEAP/RAMP)
Location: Bristol

The business has a programme in its D&M Phase and is working very closely with it's MoD customer. This programme has very challenging timescales and has linkages/synergies with other current programmes.

We are looking for an individual with strong experience of D&M Requirement and Acceptance planning and management. This experience needs to address the wider DLOD's and not be constrained to just the Equipment DLOD.

Specifically:
Writing and delivering an ITEAP (Integrated Test Evaluation Acceptance Plan) and a RAMP (Requirements Acceptance Management Plan) for a complex Weapon System, on behalf of the customer. This is to allow the DE&S project team to manage these aspects and ensure the expectations of their assurance community are managed in as timely a fashion as possible.

Writing these documents to be effective and proportionate, rather than just serving a process need. The documented processes need to describe the credible, achievable activities to be carried out, with the appropriate rigour, to allow the project to effectively move forward in as effective & efficient manner as possible

Experience of delivery of Land based weapon systems would be a significant advantage.

Strong stakeholder engagement skills both within industry and the MoD environment, up to senior levels.
Tools Knowledge
Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/Powerpoint etc.)
MATLAB, Excel and with DOORS knowledge essential
Rhapsody and Artisan, SysML/UML would be an advantage
Skills and Knowledge:
Substancial experience in Systems Design:-
Writing and delivering an ITEAP (Integrated Test Evaluation Acceptance Plan) and a RAMP (Requirements Acceptance Management Plan) for a complex Weapon System
Complex System Design Definition and Development.
System Design Requirement analysis, management, documentation and flow down.
Carrying out technical design trades across System and Sub-system boundaries.
System Design uncertainty & query resolution and coherency management across product lines.
System Design interface definition, co-ordination and documentation.
Negotiating points of embodiment with Design Authorities.

Worked in at least one of the following related areas:
Missile/Weapon Systems
Combat Systems
Command & Control Systems

In addition, the successful candidate will:
* Have the ability to visualize and analyse complex systems
* Have good analysis skills
* Have good verbal, presentation and written communication skills
* Have practical knowledge of basic systems engineering principles and processes.
* Be able to work with engineering teams, including in-house and contractor personnel
* Be pro-active and be capable of working on their own initiative with a minimum of supervision
* Have good working experience in more than one phase of the engineering life cycle, with sufficient experience of the total life cycle to ensure a good understanding of adjacent phases and through-life engineering issues
