Systems Engineer - Defence

My client based in Gloucester is a Defence company that specialises in Electronic Warfare products. They are now looking for an experienced Systems Engineer to assist in the development of systems integration, verification and validation for radio, ECM and related projects.

Key responsibilities

*Production of requirements specifications in line with customer needs
*Produce system designs in line with requirements
*Implementation of system designs solutions
*Production and execution of test strategies, test plans and test specifications to verify and validate designs
*Produce installation and commissioning instructions, test plans and test specifications
*Design/prototype evaluation, fault finding, diagnosis and resolution
*Customer engagement to elicit requirements, present designs for approval and provide post-delivery customer support
*Supplier liaison
*Co-ordinate the development of subsystem design and production in-house and externally
*Technical support to the Customer Service and Support department

Essential skills

*Experience of the full engineering life cycle and formal methodologies such as V-model
*Experience of radio systems and modules
*Experience of radio and RF test equipment
*Experience of defining and executing formal qualification testing such as EMC, environmental, safety testing in line with Def-Stans, Mil-STD, ISO etc.
*Excellent verbal and written communication; experience of authoring requirements, design and test plans and specifications
*Attention to detail
*Self-starter

*Previous ECM experience
*Experience of Reliability

Successful candidates will need to under go a Security Clearance process.
