Systems Engineer - 3 Month Contract - Immediate Start

THE CLIENT

Our client is a leading consulting organisation based in Sydney CBD. They work closely with a number of blue chip and ASX listed companies nationally and have grown steadily over the past 3 years.

THE ROLE

Our client is now seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join their existing team on a 3 month contract. This role will involve working closely with the existing team of Engineers & Service Desk staff.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES FOR THIS ROLE INCLUDE:

- Involvement in the architecture, implementation and support of infrastructure projects
- Ensuring the high availability of IT systems for employees and customers
- Troubleshooting and prompt response to escalated issues within the business
- Communication across the business and will stakeholders at all levels

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES:

- Design, implementation and configuration of server environments
- Server Management, Monitoring and regular checks on all infrastructure
- Install, config and maintenance of all infrastructure hardware, software and related devices (Blades, Servers, NAS, SAN, Operating Systems etc)
- Maintenance and Administration of Windows based Servers, Active Directory, Exchange and Virtual Machines
- Providing overflow support for the Service Desk when required

THE REQUIREMENTS:

- Experience supporting an environment with in excess of 250 Users
- Extensive Active Directory experience
- Solid background in virtualised environments (VMware, Hyper-V)
- Experience with Windows Applications (SQL, Exchange & Office Suite)
- Some experience working with Linux is an advantage
