Projektbeschreibung
1. PURPOSE
The role of the Systems Engineer is to ensure effective service delivery and operation of productivity and collaboration services for the workplace, and serve as the technical lead and subject matter expert on related projects.
2. BACKGROUND
Reporting to the Services Manager, the incumbent performs the overall tasks that have been assigned to her/him including planning, managing, tracking, and reporting on the status of those activities.
The incumbent works closely with other colleagues to ensure that the systems and infrastructure supporting the productivity and collaboration services for the workplace are functioning well, and that processes and procedures are in place to support the smooth operations.
3. WORK TO BE PERFORMED
The expectations of this engagement involve, but are not limited to, the following:
Design, implement, maintain and support global shared services for productivity and collaboration such as email, personal devices, file storage and team sites, and systems underpinning them such as Office 365, Exchange, e-mail security, gateways, mobile messaging, listserv, Active Directory, SCCM, file Servers, identity and services provisioning processes.
Maintain scripts to automate systems deployment, operations and management.
Integrate collaboration systems and productivity tools with security, configuration and events management systems.
Provide support for development and maintenance of directory and authentication systems.
Maintain standard operating procedures.
Design and implement monitoring and management systems and take actions to ensure system availability, security and integrity; contribute to development and reporting of key performance indicators.
Provide third-level support for user requests, incident and problem management.
Carry out other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
4. EXPECTED DELIVERABLE(S)
Deliverable 1:
Support ongoing operations by maintaining and executing high levels of service as outlined in the above work to be performed. Performance will be measured by the incumbent's ability to adequately fulfil their duties on a pass/fail basis.
Deliverable 2:
Throughout the term of employment: troubleshoot, liaise, and coordinate with relevant parties' and supervisor's needs.
5. ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Thorough and in-depth knowledge of Office 365 suite, particularly Microsoft Exchange, Skype for Business, SharePoint, OneDrive, ActiveSync, mail security gateways, Internet listserv, ADFS and Azure AD.
Thorough understanding of messaging protocol and related services (MAPI, SMTP, POP, IMAP, EAS, HTTPS, etc.).
Good understanding of configuration management and application distribution for personal devices.
Good knowledge of Windows server systems and Active Directory.
Ability to maintain system design and maintenance plans.
Ability to maintain complex scripts for systems deployment, operation and maintenance, and services provisioning and de-provisioning.
Able to effectively support many systems and users. Adaptability and flexibility for working in complex and changing environment and under pressure.
Creativity in approach to new challenges, both technological and organizational.
Excellent communication, problem solving and analytical skills.
Qualifications:
University degree in computer science, engineering, or information management, or related discipline.
Relevant professional training and/or certification related to Windows, Microsoft Collaborative services, Office 365, Desktop Engineering, ICT service management would be an advantage.
Experience:
At least 5 years of relevant professional experience in the information and communications field
Recent experience implementing and supporting large scale Microsoft Office 365, Exchange Server and Active Directory required
Experience with cloud encryption technologies, eg, Vaultive, will be an advantage
Experience working with globally distributed stakeholders
6. USE OF LANGUAGESKILLS
Expert knowledge in spoken and written English.
Basic knowledge in French is desirable, but not mandatory.
7. DURATION
The engagement will initially be for four (4) months on a Time and Materials basis with a possibility of renewal for another three (3) months based on several factors such as performance and project needs.
There is no guarantee of continued and/or ongoing employment with THE CLIENT in any capacity following the end of this contract.
