Our client in Bedfordshire is looking for a Systems Engineer with versatile experience to join them imminently to provide much needed assistance. We are working with an industry-leading Aerospace organisation. They are looking to support the development of future Ice Detection products.

The purpose of the role is to provide System Engineering Leadership and expertise in defining and developing integrated technical solutions for their Operations Ice Detector. Ideally candidates will have a background of working in the Aerospace and Defence industry as a Systems Engineers

Principal Responsibilities

Define systems performance requires for a new Optical Ice Detection technology platform based on generic customer requirements.
Define overall Ice Detection system architecture with an appropriate breakdown into sub-system functional modules developed in collaboration with strategic partners.
Establish a full range of specifications (System, Sub-System ect.) to enable development of hardware and software design in line with the customer specifications and applicable certification requirements.
Develop and implement a robust approach for requirements capture, decomposition and management within the Ice Detection programme.
Oversee and guide the technical team, including all external partners, with regards to electronics and software development activities to ensure system integrity.
Interface with customers on aircraft interface requirements and design aspects, and provide adequate and technical coherent documentation of the system.
Lead the definition of a suitable test approach for the verification and validation of the Ice Detector system design and performance in line with applicable aircraft system certification requirements.
Technically lead all systems integration activities both at Ice Detector and aircraft interface level.

Skills
Deep knowledge of electronics hardware and software design
Good understanding of certification requirements (CS-25, DO-178B, DO-254, DO-160G)
Proven analytical and problem solving skills
Ability to coordinate and direct technical project tasks
Creative, enthusiastic, results-oriented and fast-learning team player. Qualifications:
Degree or equivalent in relevant discipline (preferable Electronics/software Engineering)
Higher level of professional membership/post degree education desirable
