Systems Engineer

The successful candidate will be required to work within Systems Engineering as part of a multi-disciplinary team to carry out systems engineering activities associated with new product development.
This will include specifying, developing and qualifying systems and equipment in line with developing business and customer needs throughout the project life cycle for various Air-to-Air Refuelling and Auxiliary Mission Equipment projects.

Elements of responsibility may include equipment such as: motortransmissions; actuators; fuel pumps; hydraulic motors (and associated control); surge suppression systems; valvesram air turbines; braking systems; sensors; avionics control units and lighting systems. The majority of the work will be carried out at Cobham Mission Equipments new purpose built engineering facility in Wimborne, Dorset. Occasional (infrequent) travel may be required.

Main Duties:

As a Systems Engineer your key responsibilities will include:
Requirements capture, allocation, derivation, validation and verification
Preparation of Specifications and other project documentation
System; sub-system and equipment architecture definition; design and analysis Interface definition and management
System integration
Technical management of external suppliers
Qualification of equipment and systems
Liaison with customers, internal and external Liaison with specialists such as design, performance and ILS engineers
Relevant degree or equivalent

SKILLS REQUIRED
Mechanical/fluid-mechanical; Mechanical/Electro-mechanical; Electrical; Avionics or Systems Integration bias Experience in one or more of the following: fuel and hydraulic systems; transmissions, controllers/electric motors and/or integration of equipment, sub-systems and systems. 5 years+ experience in an aerospace environment within systems & new product development Experience of requirements management using tools such as DOORS or Cradle
