Systems Engineer

Our client based in the West Midlands, is looking to bring on a number of Systems Engineers on an initial 6 month contract basis.

Specific Accountabilities
The Systems Engineering group covers a range of disciplines which can be broadly categorized as follows
o Braking System, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System, Nose Wheel Steering, Landing Gear System, Hydraulic System Control, Requirements/Design

Including project assigned Lead Systems Engineers who help establish system architectures and requirements.

Requirements traceability including adherence to ARP4754 and associated tools such as DOORS.

This role typically involves extensive customer contact and communications.

o System Integration
Including Hardware In the Loop (HIL) System Integration Testing, flight test support, analysis of aircraft test data and development of associated test tools (ie Labview).

o Simulation/Modelling
Including the use of tools such as Matlab/Simulink and Labview in order to develop simulation models of aircraft, aircraft braking systems and individual hydraulic components.

o Control Algorithm Development
Including the development and tuning of control algorithms associated with Brake Control, Tyre Pressure
Monitoring, Ebrake Control, Nose Wheel Steering, Hydraulics and Landing Gear Control.
The Systems Engineer will participate in activities in one or more of these areas/disciplines.
Further specific accountabilities/specialism in one (or more) of the above areas may also be assigned.
Conducts technical work including the following: requirements management, analysis, trade-studies, product design, testing,
system/component integration, mathematical modelling, control system design and software development.
Prepares and reviews documentation including the following: technical requirements, specifications, design documents, user guides, work instructions, qualification test plans and test procedures and technical reports.
Plans, organizes and controls his/her activities to ensure on-time delivery and the quality of their output.
Actively participates as a member of their skill centre and/or programme development teams
Carries out special projects as assigned.
Authority for technical approval (Senior/Principal)
May have technical accountability and responsibility for Senior and/or Engineers (Senior/Principal)

Technical Requirements
University degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent qualification.
Working knowledge of System development; ARP4754,
Knowledge of Antiskid Control Systems development; ARP1070 and System modelling techniques (desirable).
Appreciation of ATA-32 Landing Gear System operations and environment (desirable)
Experience using DOOR's (desirable)
Experience using MatLab/Simulink (desirable)
Working knowledge of PC's in the current company operating system environment.
