Systems Engineer

Systems Engineer required to provide technical leadership and support to existing major programmes and to produce proposals and requirements for new sensor programmes for land, sea, and airborne applications. The successful candidate must have significant experience in the electro-optical sensor systems domain (primarily high performance thermal imager systems) and must be able to coordinate existing knowledge and data on current programmes as well as providing technical leadership to develop concepts, architectures, and define system designs, taking these forward to implementation, integration, test and evaluation, and ultimately production. This role includes Final Report writing and definition of future work content in the area.

The successful candidate will have the below skills:
A background in high performance electro-optical (thermal imaging and other bands) sensors and systems.
Awareness of data/signal processing.
Extensive systems engineering life cycle experience.
Bids & Proposals, Requirements management, use of DOORS.
Knowledge of military and international specifications and standards.
Functional analysis.
System architectures and concepts definition.
Specification development.
Working with other disciplines and external suppliers/customers.
Verification and validation.
System Trials, Acceptance and Certification.
Model Driven Engineering approaches.

Candidates must be willing to undergo a security vetting procedure.
