Systems Engineer

Our client is one of the world's leading financial services seeking a SYSTEMS ENGINEER with 4 years of engineering experience in commercial off-the-shelf or open-source infrastructure management tools such as BladeLogic IBM Netcool, BMC ProactiveNet, CA Wily Introscope, Splunk, Microsoft Systems Center, CFEngine, and/or Nagios.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Tools related engineering work - design, integrate and implement infrastructure tools for monitoring, configuration and performance management. This role will focus on server automation and configuration management/compliance. Deep understanding of provisioning, software packaging and deployment, inventory management, configuration management/compliance, patching and remediation are essential to this role.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Bachelor's degree or higher
- 4 years of engineering experience (architecture design, integration, customization and implementation) of commercial off-the-shelf or open-source infrastructure management tools, such as BladeLogic IBM Netcool, BMC ProactiveNet, CA Wily Introscope, Splunk, Microsoft Systems Center, CFEngine, Nagios
- Familiarity with data center constructs and in-depth understanding of related infrastructure management challenges and operational considerations
- System Administrator level knowledge of operating systems, such as Linux, AIX, Solaris and Windows
- Proficiency in one or more Scripting/programming languages, such as Shell, Perl, VB, Powershell or Python
- Ability to work independently on creating integration of Tools through APIs and Web Services calls
- Understanding of virtualization and its specific operational challenges, including familiarity with virtualization infrastructure stack and respective management technologies
- Strong analytical mind and troubleshooting skills to provide Level 3 solution support
- Deep knowledge and real world experience of ITSM processes, such as incident and problem management, change management, capacity management and release management
- Effective communicator to work in global team environment, ready to initiate collaboration and resolve conflicts
- Ability to prioritize workload in order to meet necessary deadlines
- Ability to make independent judgments/decisions within established guidelines
- Knowledge of databases (Oracle, MS SQL )and web applications (Apache, Tomcat) and Middleware components (J2EE, JVM, .NET) a plus
- Open system experience with Linux/AIX/Solaris a plus
- Preferred: experience in large corporations, service providers and/or telecom hosting industry; Financial services
