Systems Engineer

For this contract position as a SYSTEMS ENGINEER with a world-renowned computer manufacturing company, you will be performing a wide variety of server support activities in a large-scale, high-performance computing environment.

The candidate will set up initial meeting to collect customer requirements. May also be involved in assisting with physical install documentation. Issues or problems are escalated to site Design Engineer.

OVERVIEW

- Assemble, build, and configure test machines for project testing and demos.
- Assemble, build and configure initial server landing.
- Maintain lab hardware (desktops, notebooks, Servers, test rigs, test equipment, and peripherals).
- Troubleshoot hardware and software issues to maintain productivity.
- Escalate issues to Design Engineering for engineering re-design.
- Locate, test, and configure hardware for demo/test.
- Provide general local networking support for lab equipment.
- Assist with installation, configuration, and registration of test devices.
- Assist with IT compliance for all non-IT network connected hardware.
- Provide training to other contractors as needed.

REQUIREMENTS:

- 4+ years related work experience
- Solid network administration and troubleshooting skills, including hands-on experience with a variety of hardware platforms running Linux operating systems
- Server-level administration skills with Windows and Linux
- Knowledge of TCP and networking principles
- Ability to work an 8am - 5pm shift Monday- Friday
- Must be able to pass 10 year criminal background check and drug screen
- Physical requirements of position: able to lift up to 50-70 lbs.
