Opportunities exist for Systems Engineers on the Mission Planning products (Target modelling, Mission Planning, Mission Rehearsal). These are software products running Embedded with other software, or running with COTS hardware and software.

The Mission Planning and Control Solutions team are developing and delivering complex software products in support of weapon systems. The key challenge is to develop and deliver robust solutions that ensure the effective weapon employment whilst providing the Users with significant flexibility. The systems team role (from concept through to delivery and in-service support) is to balance the many conflicting needs and define an appropriate solution.

Accountabilities:
Carry out a full range of Training preparation tasks including the scoping, development, clearance and delivery of training material.

Prepare a full range of specifications, develop designs in line with specifications and all quality and technical standards, and carry out design appraisals in assigned areas to ensure all standards are maintained.

Define testing approaches and specify tests in assigned/specialist area(s) and evaluate and make recommendations based on results, including making suggestions to improve test/diagnosis processes.

Lead engineering support activities in the field (and carry out the most complex activities) for specific products and customers to ensure the operability of MBDA products.

Plan, control and deliver assigned projects or work packages, and make an input as required to cross-functional projects/investigations, ensuring requirements are delivered to plan.

Prepare system designs within the Model Based Systems Engineering approach using Rhapsody and work with the Software organisation to ensure appropriateness of the design and the implementation.

Carry out team planning, risk management and quality activities in assigned areas in line with all requirements and processes

Provide effective support to customers in assigned areas, delivering solutions to meet the customer's needs and requirements plus the programme plan

Provide help and direction to less experienced team members to support both their effective working and their development.

Skills and Knowledge:
*Defence Systems Approach to Training or Systems Approach to Training experience
*Sound understanding of the system design process (including System and Sub-System Specification, System Test, Integration and Certification)
*Significant, relevant experience
*Substantial analytical and problem solving skills
*Practical knowledge of Raphsody or Matlab would be of benefit
*Good verbal and written communications. The ability to establish and develop relationships within and beyond your immediate team.
*Willingness to travel
*The confidence and ability to represent the team and the company in engaging with the User and Customer community.
