Systems Architect - iET ref 2545 - English Speaking Contract in Zürich

For a global bank based here in Zurich we are looking for a Systems Architect with a solid Java background.

THE JOB:

The area/project that you will work in is the infrastructure for Business Rules enabling business users to define business rules on their own and deploy them in near time to a production environment. The area is built on IBM Operational Decision Manager (ODM, formerly JRules) as core software. It adds own implemented governance processes for on-boarding, change and deployment of business rules adhering to the client's Software Change policies. Business rules are managed in a shared environment for build and deploy whereas the Business Rule execution is occurring decentral, that means in each application using Business Rules. The platform is available in Zurich, New York and London and built in the Enabling Technologies unit in Zurich.

SKILLS:
MUST SKILLS (TECHNICAL):

- Proven JEE track record on senior level
- Master degree in Computer Science
- Multi-year experience in complex, international multi-location environments
- Good communication skills and team player capabilities
- Applied unit & regression testing knowledge
- English language mother tongue or proficiency level for non-native speakers

PREFERRED SKILLS (NON-TECHNICAL):

- Strong soft skills to handle stakeholders with different background (Requirement engineers, Project leads, Programmers, Offshore resources, Testers etc.)
- Strong ability to work both independently and integrated in a project team
- Good time-management

ADVANTAGEOUS SKILLS:

- Good IBM ODM/JRules knowledge with hands-on experience (at least applied in one project)
- development environment (Eclipse & Co)
- staging environments and related deployment processes
- testing tools (HP Quality Center)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Knows in-deep the current Business Rule platform solution implementation
- Supports resolution of technical issues of the solution
- Leads the implementation of specific implementations to integrate the IBM ODM product
- Documents technical facts of the deployed solution
- Enables quality management by providing unit-tested implementations

TASKS:

- Keep up-to-date knowledge on the IBM product ODM (formerly JRules)
- Provide 3rd level support (maintain group mailbox)
- Collaborate in specification phase (new and enhancing features)
- Implement new features including test specification and unit tests
- Support some department roll-outs

- Partial specification competency in collaboration with the solution owner (Solution Architect)
