Systems and Software Tester

A governement department at Canberra requires

Experienced Tester(s) to support the Employment Systems Group on a range of Employment Services Programmes project work. Successful candidates will work as part of a team and be responsible for delivering a full range of testing activities and outcomes, including online, batch and interface testing on a range of platforms.

Candidates will be expected to:

- Analyse specifications and changes required to perform the testing process
- Write, review and execute test cases
- Raise defect reports and manage re-testing of defect fixes, and
- Assist with the planning, monitoring and management of the testing process.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:

Demonstrated system testing experience in a complex large scale environment, with a MINIMUM OF 5 YEARS SYSTEM TESTING EXPERIENCE including:

- Demonstrated experience with writing, reviewing and executing complex manual test cases
- Demonstrated experience in being able to analyse complex business and technical specifications
- Demonstrated experience in defect management
- Demonstrated experience using industry testing tools (eg HP quality Centre, MTM)
- Demonstrated experience in interrogating and querying databases using tools such as RC Update, Hyperion, SQL Server Management Studio, and
- Ability to learn new applications, business processes and procedures quickly.

Well developed communication skills including:

- Read, comprehend and write technical material effectively
- Negotiation and liaison skills
- Ability to communicate with staff from technical and non-technical backgrounds
- Presentation skills

Demonstrated capacity to work effectively as a team member and as an individual, and provide guidance & mentoring to junior testers, and

Demonstrated ability to effectively manage own work against competing priorities and tight deadlines.

Australian Citizenship is mandatory and a Security Clearance of Baseline is desirable.
