Systems Analyst - AS400 BPCS

JOB SUMMARY:

- A strong AS400 resource with exposure in BPCS (Business Planning and Control System).
- Exposure in production support and system monitoring.
- Knowledge in batch job processing and job scheduling.
- Based on requirements - design, develop, unit test and support user acceptance testing of new/modified programs
- Should possess ability to troubleshoot and resolve users' questions and problems and research potential defects or enhancement requests.
- Provide excellent customer service, verbal and written communication skills are a must. Prior customer service experience must.
- The ability to multi-task, prioritize and work under pressure are required
- Guide the team members on technical requirements.
- Proficient in manufacturing domain knowledge.
- Works with the PMO to facilitate program and project execution in timely manner.
- Assists in the delivery of project requests in a managed services environment and provides technical support within the defined support process environment

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Systems Analyst primarily responsible for handling support, development of new applications/enhancement of existing applications using AS400 like
- RPG400/RPGLE, CL400/CLLE, OS400, SQL400, DB2400
- DSPFS,Subfiles, Reporting
- BPCS - Analyze user requirements and based on findings, design functional specifications for the requirement.
- Design, code, test, and document all new or modified applications, and programs.
- Provides users with appropriate support and advice on IT and business process improvement opportunities and initiatives;
- Understands the organization's strategy for managing and providing information within the application.

REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION

- Bachelor's degree
- Masters Degree a plus

EXPERIENCE

- Minimum five years of experience in IT. Experience working with customers to develop effective solutions to diverse and complex business problems.
- Technical experience, at least 5 years in working on following tools/platforms.
- AS400: RPG, CL, SQL, DB2
- BPCS

LANGUAGE SKILLS

- English (fluency in reading, writing, and speaking); Spanish language skills desirable

ADDITIONAL SKILLS

- Manufacturing Domain knowledge
- Strong presentation skills; good written and verbal skills
- Mapics knowledge preferred

- SDLC knowledge.
- Assists with requirements, analysis and process design of Applications in AS400 and documentation.

PROGRAM AND PROJECT GOVERNANCE

- Serves as a functional staff member for PMO led programs/projects delivering BI applications.

GENERAL IT MANAGEMENT

- Understanding of IT Program and Project Management as well as Application Development general principles and techniques.
- Understanding of IT financial management, sufficient to interpret and explain key IT spending categories, trends and opportunities to IM leadership
