Systems Administrator - Linux/Windows

Our client is a defence and security company employing people globally. With a wide-ranging products and services covering aerospace, defence and naval forces, as well as advanced electronics, security, information technology, and support services.

Due to rapid growth, we are looking for a process driven Systems Administrator to join the team near Melbourne Airport. It will be your responsibility to provide technical leadership and oversee a variety of complex tasks and projects. The successful candidate will have a high level of technical knowledge and experience in more than one area and will be able to provide a source of expert advice and assistance.

Responsibilites;

- Responsible for the overall server design, administration and support.
- Provide high-level technical advice on server hardware and operating system software design, configuration, operation, security and use to the Team Leader and IT Infrastructure Manager
- Building, deploying and maintaining robust systems on-time and within budget
- Maintenance of network infrastructure including switching architecture and Firewalls
- Supporting all IT staff with related issues/maintain procedures and policies
- Liaise with internal departments as well as external contractors
- Work in a fast paced environment, pick up new technologies and make expert recommendations.

Technical skills;

- Development and maintenance of internal web based ERP systems, based on PHP+SQL
- Ensuring internal security policies are implemented and monitored, including Active Directory domain management
- VMWARE
- Linux and Windows Admin
- HTTP/Apache Web pages
- SQL
