Systems Administrator - Linux

Linux Systems Administrator for Australian Federal Government agency contract.

- Perform tasks required for Continual Service Improvement of existing operational systems;
- Augment existing personnel providing support to existing operational systems;
- Assist with the construction, deployment and maintenance of new ICT systems and platforms;
- Ability to perform administration and maintenance tasks on multiple operating systems including:
- Linux distributions including Red Hat and Ubuntu/Debian
- Microsoft Windows Server 2003-2012
- Basic Scripting skills in at least one of the following environments:

o BASH
o Python - o PowerShell
- Experience deploying and maintaining virtualisation environments including VMWare ESX.
- A good understanding of ICT hardware and data centre deployments.
- Ability and willingness to produce clear and concise documentation, diagrams and procedures.
- Basic networking skills and understanding of good ICT security practices.
- Advanced Scripting skills.
- Ability to automate and simplify repetitive tasks.
- Experience and ability to select/develop and improve existing hardware and software monitoring systems.
- Basic knowledge of database administration including MySQL and MSSQL.
