SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR II needed for a six to eight (6 to 8) months CONTRACT opportunity with Yoh's client located in ALBUQUERQUE, NM

THE BIG PICTURE:

- System Administrator II will Work in INFRASTRUCTURE OPS dealing with CUSTOMER ISSUES, SERVERS, CONNECTIVITY, STORAGE, NETWORKS, ETC.
- Operational support environment will be 80% break fix tickets and 20% project based work

TOP SKILLS YOU SHOULD POSSESS:

- One of more Microsoft Professional Certifications in Windows Server
- Client would like to SEE DIVERSE ROLE WITH SOLID SKILLS IN A WIDE VARIETY OF TECHNOLOGIES. Not looking for a technology expert, but simply a JACK OF ALL TRADES, WITH A SOLID BASE OF SKILL & EXPERIENCE IN SEVERAL SKILLS.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- Systems Administrator Provides LEVEL 2 SUPPORTS FOR ANY COMPUTER OR NETWORK PROBLEMS that should arise.
- Works with Help Desk and Network Operations staff as appropriate to determine and resolve problems received from clients.
- Installs new/rebuild existing Servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements.
- Systems Administrator Works with vendor support contacts to resolve technical problems with desktop computing equipment and software applications.
- Performs daily system monitoring, Performs daily backup operations, applies OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis, and upgrades administrative tools and utilities. Configures/adds new services as necessary.
- Systems Administrator Performs light programming (usually Scripting, which involves writing programs to automate tasks).
- Reviews, escalates, resolves, and closes various tickets in the Altiris Help Desk queue.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- Required Education: Associates Degree or equivalent experience
- 2-4 years experience supporting a LAN in a medium to large size environment.
- 2 years experience supporting WINDOWS XP OR WINDOWS VISTA.
- KNOWLEDGE OF TCP/IP AND INTEROPERABILITY WITH VARIOUS NETWORK DEVICES SUCH AS SWITCHES, ROUTERS, AND FIREWALLS
- Knowledge of MS Windows, Sun Solaris, and VMware operating systems
- Knowledge of Filenet or other data entry and document imaging applications o Knowledge of Dell or HP Servers and experience with warranty support o Working knowledge of network tools, such as, Visio, Wireshark, etc.
- Basic understanding of MS SQL and Oracle databases
- Basic understanding of SAN architecture
