Systems Administrator II (ASTI/VCS Support) - Clearance Job

SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR 2 (ASTI/VCS SUPPORT) - CLEARANCE needed for a CONTRACT opportunity with Yoh's client located in ANCHORAGE, ALASKA.

Possession of a Security Clearance is required as a condition for employment.

THE BIG PICTURE - TOP SKILLS YOU SHOULD POSSESS:

- Familiarity with details of operating system network configuration
- Linux operating system security configuration
- Experience with Red Hat Network Satellite (RHNS)
- Experience with Red Hat VM solutions using network attached storage

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- System Administration of UNIX/Linux/NetApp virtual server environment
- Responsible for installing, upgrading, configuring and maintaining Servers in accordance with established standards, policies, procedures and configuration guidelines
- Performs software installations and upgrades to Red Hat operating systems and layered software packages and maintains them in accordance with established policies, procedures and service level agreements
- Uses Red Hat Network Satellite (RHNS) to manage RHEL VM deployments
- Applies RHEL patches to stay in front of known vulnerabilities and maintain Center for Internet Security (CIS) compliance
- Configures/manages Red Hat clusters and fencing agents.
- Monitors and tunes the system to achieve optimum level of performance. Ensures server data integrity by evaluating, implementing and managing appropriate software and hardware solutions. Ensures data/media recoverability by implementing a schedule of system backups and database archive operations.
- Conducts routine hardware and software audits of Servers for compliance with established standards, policies, procedures and configuration guidelines. Knowledgeable of networking associated with a LAN based server and workstations.
- Develops schedules for the installation and monitoring of local network and stand-alone information resources.
- Manages and directs proactive and reactive systems administration activities to ensure the availability, integrity, and reliability of networked and stand-alone resources.
- Monitors/manages allocated NetApp storage space assigned to each VM
- Configures/manages NetBackup backup as well as Tape Library backup policies
- Configures/manages kick start Servers and CM-controlled server/package installations
- Assists in the configuration/management of 3rd party vendor infrastructure applications

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- Experience with configuration of backup and disaster recovery solutions/policies
- Experience with kick start server configuration/use
- Basic networking skills
- Experience with RPM builds for software packages
- Ability to perform complex infrastructure design
- Plan interactions of multiple applications (HA, DB, Large Networks)
- Scripting knowledge for automation of tools
- BS/BA (or equivalent) in Information Technology or related field, and minimum four (4) years related experience
- Linux and VM experience/knowledge
- Network Attached Storage
- Backup policies
- Strong listening skills
- Ability to assist and lead other teammates
- Splunk, NetIQ eDirectory/iManager, RSA, SourceFire, IPCOntrol, CiscoPrime, Sophos

- Experience with Red Hat clustering (LUCI/RICCI)
- Experience with Nessus vulnerability/compliance scanning
- Experience with LDAP architecture/integration
- Experience with two-factor authentication solutions, eg RSA
- Network troubleshooting skills (eg DNS, routing, ACLs, etc.)
- Knowledge of lab infrastructure
- Power requirements
- Datacenter build-out experience
- How to harden a lab
- Python Scripting skills
- Red Hat certs (RHCE, RHCT, RHCSA)
