POSITION SUMMARY:

The Systems Administrator will be responsible for providing systems and application support across, in particular the clients corporate systems environment. This position requires applying root cause operation break-fixes and other proactive maintenance activities to keep the services up and running.

Candidate must have a strong demonstrated commitment to customer service, proactive review of processes and procedures to continually enhance service quality, service delivery and support. This is a professional level position and requires strong execution and analytical abilities. This role works independently and receives minimal guidance.

JOB SCOPE:

- Provide automation solutions of manual tasks performed by infrastructure support.
- Develop solutions using available tools and technologies and assist the global team in problem resolution by hands-on participation.
- Operate in complex, highly-secure, and highly-available, operations environments and interact with the technology domain experts required to maintain those environments.
- Support the development and incorporation of best practices and approaches into the companys processes and methodologies.
- Will work closely with areas across the org including, Operations, Engineering, Service Product office, and Global Open System Development Lines.
- Be heavily involved in ensuring team meets all SLAs and team objectives.
- Must have a strong commitment to execution, follow through and timely communication.
- Execute decisive action to preserve and maintain service availability, performance, integrity, capacity and security.
- Lead and participate in the determination of root causes for service failure and support escalation, using knowledge and experience of VMWare ESX vSphere, UCS, Cisco Vblock, Server Blade technology (Cisco/HP), Unix (AIX, Linux) and Windows 2008.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Bachelor s/Degree or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 4-8 years experience in an application hosting, enterprise or data center environment
- Understanding of automation technologies including Windows Scripting and automation
- HP Operations Orchestrator experience highly recommended
- Application development experience a plus
- Education or experience must include:
- Virtualization support ie VMWare
- Shared infrastructure support ie HP blade server/Cisco Blade (Cisco Unified Computing System)/Vblock Infrastructure (Cisco, EMC, VMWare)
- Strength in Scripting against Windows ie PowerShell, VB
- Core Unix Systems Administration experience required with some Windows administration needed
- Individual should be self-motivated with the ability to work independently
- Sound planning, organizational and problem solving skills
- Must have excellent interpersonal skills with ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical customer
- Strong project, organizational, presentation, and writing skills
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and commitments in an environment that requires multitasking among concurrent projects
