Our hugely popular client is looking for a dynamic and motivated SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR to join their internal support group. As a member of the team, you will have the opportunity to help sustain corporate infrastructure and services platforms.

The Systems Administrator's primary task is the focus on the delivery and support of a broad spectrum of technology including Windows, Apple and Linux workstations, shared storage, and telephony hardware, software and operating systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Primary function is to answer support requests arriving at the Helpdesk and to accurately identify, prioritize and log the service requests within the established standards.
- Reset network passwords, resolve print queue problems, manage crisis escalation and transfer service requests to other support groups as appropriate.
- Assist in projects as needed.
- Assist in monitoring physical security of location as needed.
- Leverage sharp analytical abilities to recognize priority issues and escalate accordingly; must be a real troubleshooter who excels at spotting issues, monitoring problems, and log service requests.
- Use knowledge of IT operations, responsibilities, workflow processes, and procedures to resolve most inquires independently.
- Provide technical expertise in the discipline of systems administration, implementation, operations and hands-on support of infrastructure (hardware, software, and OS) including but not limited to Windows, Linux and Mac workstations and related storage platforms.
- Guide the administration of processes and procedures to ensure the reliability, recoverability, and optimum performance of end user workstations.
- Track and report progress against established milestones, metrics, and deliverables.
- Anticipate and address preventable issues that could impede progress. Adjust plans and schedules as necessary to meet changing business requirements.

REQUIREMENTS

- Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or related computing field
- 3-5 years of experience in supporting Windows and Apple and systems administration, (Linux a definite plus)
- Must be proficient in the installation, configuration, upgrade, security, backup, recovery, virtualization, and performance tuning of Desktop operating Systems
- In-depth knowledge of industry best practices and strategies in this field required
- Familiarity with Windows 7, MAC 10.8, Ubuntu and Redhat Linux operating systems
- Understanding of MAC and Linux based applications
- Demonstrated proficiency with the Microsoft Suite of products, Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, the Internet and networking
- 2+ years of experience with Active Directory including user management and replication
- Results oriented and delivery focused, with demonstrated experience working with infrastructure and engineering teams
- Strong ability to multi-task and handle multiple priorities in an innovative and fast-paced environment
- Strong ability to produce VBscripts to automate fixes on user equipment
- Strong verbal and written communications skills, including an ability to effectively communicate technical terms into non-technical language
- Understanding of computer terms and acronyms
- The ability to learn new processes and procedures
- Good communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to work effectively with client and other support staff
- Self-driven with a bias for action and desire to provide maximum value, be able to work with shifting priorities
