JOB DESCRIPTION:

- Installs new software releases, system upgrades, evaluates and installs patches and resolves software related problems.
- Performs system backups and recovery. Maintains data files and monitors system configuration to ensure data integrity.
-  Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
- The DMV Vendor Infrastructure Support Technician plays a key role for providing daily technical infrastructure operational support and technical support for many DMV initiatives.
- Some of the current DMV initiatives include the upgrade of the DMV Identification Management System and the Knowledge Management System.

PRIMARY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THIS POSITION INCLUDE:

- Coordination/focal point for infrastructure change impacts on DMV applications
- Receives and performs installation of vendor application fixes, patches and new releases in Development, Acceptance, Education and Production environments.
- Maintains technical application documentation, architecture, troubleshooting guides, configuration diagrams and change logs.
- Leads the install/deployment packaging of upgrades and customizations provided by the vendor
- Supports the DMV Test Center (Room 805) as the primary technical focal point .
- Implements and maintains authorizations for DMV server and desktop operating systems.
