Systems Administrator

This candidate will be responsible for planning, delivering and operating all pre-production technology services related to our hugely popular client's interactive platforms as a part of Development, Build & Deploy team(s). The Systems Administrator will implement and support critical operational services such as security, system deployment, configurations and automation, monitoring, backup and recovery in a fast-paced, high volume, agile pre-production environment. Work closely with Project Managers and Development to ensure requirements for new and existing products are captured, communicated and planned. Develop tools, automation and procedures for systems administration tasks.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Ensure the performance and availability of pre-production services using appropriate tools, processes and mechanisms
- Participate in resolving support issues including launch-window after-hours support when needed
- Plan and perform project related work and tasks as defined by the technology team, maintaining a high level of accuracy, quality and efficiency
- Assist in the development of high quality solutions that meet the needs of the product
- Plan and perform day-to-day operational duties as defined by the technology leadership to support the ongoing development and refinement of the product in the pre-production envelope
- Perform ongoing performance tuning, component upgrades and procedural optimization to drive performance, availability and reliability in the pre-production environment

QUALIFICATIONS

- Technology related post-secondary degree or diploma, or equivalent combination of training, education and experience
- 2 to 5 years in a systems administration role with emphasis on support of software development, building and implementing large-scale distributed data processing solutions with solid understanding of server/storage technologies and ability to implement complex solutions
- Familiarity with virtualized server environments
- Solid understanding of Linux, Windows, and OSX operating systems and ability to install and configure operating systems packages
- Integration/automation experience with Chef/Puppet
- Familiarity with Build Automation tools (Jenkins, Bamboo, etc.)
- Experience with monitoring and performance profiling regimes
- Knowledge and experience of analytics solutions and processes in web analytics a big plus
- Familiarity with large scale multi-terabyte environments or experience with distributed systems a plus
