PAY RATE: $48 PER HOUR

WPP Web/App Portal Administration/Production Support is responsible for providing technical WebSphere Application Server and Portal server expertise, support and recommendations to the WPP/kp.org team members to ensure implementation of best practices and optimum leverage of respective Web technologies. The primary focus is on WebSphere platform running on Solaris and Linux environments. 

Essential Functions: 
- Overall implementation and support for end-to-end Portal environments for WPP. 
- Planning, Installation and configuration of WebSphere Web, Application and Portal Server integrated environments. 
- Monitoring and troubleshooting of the Portal Environments. 
- Support aggressive WPP release deployments to various portal environments from development to production. 
- Upgrade the Portal environment software stack with necessary fixpacks and patches. 
- Working with IBM product support effectively to resolve issues at the need of business pace. 
- Be able to work effectively with developers to understand how Portal environment interacts with other surrounding application infrastructure such as Web Services and translate these needs to actionable configuration on Portals 
- Managing Portal security with integration to Oracle Identity Manager (Oblix) and Oracle Java Directory Server (LDAP) 
- Managing Portal Database access with integration to Oracle and DB2 
- Hands-on on Linux and Solaris platforms with ability to write and manage scripts necessary for deployment 
- Good understanding of networking technologies such as Firewall and load balancer and be able to translate Portal requirements to necessary changes for Firewalls and load balancers. 
- Expert in working with Remedy change, incident and service management. 

Qualifications 

Basic Qualifications: 
1. BA/BS degree in related field or 4 additional years of equivalent work experience 
2. 5 or more years job related Web Administration experience with WebSphere as core stack. Must have WebSphere Portal Administration experience of at least 2 years. 
3. 10 or more years job related experience in IT or equivalency. 
4. WebSphere Application and Portal Server 6.x, and/or 7,8 in a clustered and high availability configuration. 
5. Solaris and Linux Operating System Environment 
6. Scripting Skills. 
7. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. 
Preferred Qualifications: 
1. Experience with Disaster Recovery/Continuous availability 
2. Understanding of Database technologies 
3. Understanding of Identity Management technologies 
4. Understanding of SOA and application integration technologies. 
5. Experience and knowledge of utilizing monitoring tools, such as Quest and/or Tivoli.

a. Monitoring and troubleshooting the Web Presence Platform (WPP) Production & Pre-prod Middleware infrastructure Environment 
b. Support aggressive WPP release deployments to various WebSphere portal environments from development to pre-prod & production

d. Work on server automation, service management, and deployment products. 
e. Handle service requests, WebSphere config changes, etc.
