The Future Finance Team will transform the University's finance and procurement functions and upgrade our finance systems. They will implement a new operating model with a single finance family regardless of organisational unit, identify standard operating processes that are streamlined and automated, create improved management information tailored to the needs of decision-makers, an optimized suite of finance systems that are used appropriately and efficiently with automatic interfacing and a new finance system at its core.

As Solutions Manager you will have responsibility for the overall design of the technical solutions being developed by the Future Finance project, which includes new core finance, procurement and research grant management solutions. The role will manage a team of functional leads and will be responsible for overseeing the mapping of business requirements onto an effective systems/technical solution.

You will quality assure what the business analysts, functional leads and working groups have identified as requirements and to ensure there are no gaps in the interconnections between the work streams. Ultimately you will be able to ensure that we have a fully integrated solution that will address the business needs and satisfy the user community. You will take individual responsibility for the design and configuration of the General Ledger. You will also lead the development and creation of processes to support all solution administration and maintenance tasks, including, user access and security, period end/year end, data audit trail, workflow design, key data interfacing, database maintenance and data migration tasks.

This role is not infrastructure focussed but you need to understand the technologies used to integrate desperate applications and ensure project and programme solutions are thought out and agreed by all parties, understanding the complete 'solution'.

This is a fixed term role until 1st December 2017.

The starting salary will be from £40,847 on Grade G, depending on qualifications and experience.
