System Test Engineer Lead

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Represents the Test & Validation group on an engineering project team from conception to release.
- Plans and conducts a variety of testing functions to ensure that all products meet requirements. This includes: performing test planning, test design and test execution, defining and tracking status.
- Reviews product specs and develops the test strategy.
- Creates test plans and tracks progress in dashboard.
- Leads small testing team for Embedded products.
- Attends project team meetings.
- Executes manual and automated test plans to validate software functionality and user documentation.
- Analyzes results (documentation issues, setup issues, software bugs, etc.).
- Reports and tracks defects resulting from the test effort in a bug tracking tool.
- Works with software developers and other team members to help root cause any issues found.
- Ensures all timelines are met according to department processes.
- Documents deviations to procedures.
- Provides test team status reports to management and project team members.

SKILLS

Candidates with a Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering or Computer Science are preferred. Experience in software and/or system testing required. Must have good leadership skills to work efficiently with various team members: testers, software developers, and program managers. Ability to self-start and work with minimum direction is needed. Must have good design and test skills, a passion for quality, and attention to details. Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills are critical for this role. Must have good written and verbal communication skills and experience with a test management system. Working knowledge of C/C++ programming required.
