Projektbeschreibung

JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for providing supplementary support services to the 24/7 Power Control Center, during normal business hours, through the completion of special projects and assignments, both short-term and long-term.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Assist with new Power Control Center client on-boarding activities to facilitate a smooth transition to by performing market compliance research, interfacing with previous service providers, and implementing new Power Control Center protocol.
- Assist with the installation and improvement of new and existing technical infrastructure, critical to the day-to-day and hourly operation of the Power Control Center.
- Initiate, track, and coordinate generation and/or load interconnection agreements and associated RTO/ISO membership applications for clients with generation and/or load resources that are new, existing, or currently under construction.
- Research and communicate RTO/ISO policies and procedures within the PJM, MISO, ISO-NE, NYISO, ISO-NE, and ERCOT wholesale marketplace while staying abreast of changes in rules and regulations.
- Develop new tools and internal procedures to advance the consistency, efficiency, and effectiveness of Power Control Center activities.
- Interface with internal and external resources across multiple disciplines to ensure thorough completion of all projects while developing collaborative working relationships.
- Assist with tracking and fulfilling Power Control Center service contract requirements.
- Ensure quality and accuracy of client Real Time and hourly integrated generation and/or load information being telemetered to RTO and other systems for development of such items as Schedule Control Error (SCE), reserve calculations, area regulation, dispatch, market settlements, etc.
- Provide information and support to required individuals for scheduling, outage reporting, tie-out, settlement, and accounting for energy and ancillary services; and implementation of new systems, processes and generating units.
- Required to fill in for 12-hour rotating shift under emergency circumstances or as otherwise directed by Manager, Power Control Center.

SKILLS:

KNOWLEDGE (PREFERRED):

- Interconnected power systems.
- Balancing authority energy scheduling.
- RTO processes and procedures.
- Wholesale energy marketing and trading.
- Power system generation (power plant operator).
- Power system Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition-type equipment (SCADA), Automatic Generation Control (AGC), Energy Management System (EMS), power scheduling programs, power system tagging programs, Open Access Same-time Information System (OASIS), etc.
- NERC reliability standards.

SKILLS/ABILITIES:

- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- PC skills including word processing and spreadsheet applications.
- Good interpersonal relationship skills, including the ability to effectively direct other personnel.
- Ability to quickly and accurately organize and analyze data and apply sound reasoning and judgment in developing appropriate solutions to operate the system under normal and emergency conditions.
- Ability and initiative to organize and direct a number of concurrent activities.
- A high degree of personal discipline and respect for preparing accurate data and reports.
- Ability to lead, take initiative, assume responsibility, promote teamwork, and model team behavior.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

- Four-year accredited degree preferred in Business, Economics, Engineering or Science.
- Two years minimum experience with electricity generation, transmission, distribution, or wholesale marketing.
- PJM Certified Generation System Operator
