System Integration Engineer

A great 6 month contract for a Systems Integration Engineer based in Amsterdam or Voorburg (there are 2 roles) with a global company. Very likely this contract will keep rolling over a year.

Responsibilities for a Systems Integration Engineer:
- Perform Solaris 10/11 installation, patching and upgrade
- Perform Zpools and ZFS filesystems configuration
- Perform Zpools administration
- Local zone administration (create, attach/detach, update, migrate, destroy)
- Perform OVM for SPARC installation
- OVM for SPARC administration (LDOMs creation, live migration, mgmt)
- Manage tickets with MOS
- Apply technical skills to support the migration of Solaris technology stack during project delivery.

Requirements for a Systems Integration Engineer:
- Solaris 10/11 Installation
- Solaris 10/11 Administration
- ZFS
- OVM for SPARC and T-series Servers
- SPARC and x86 Servers
- Shell Scripting - performance monitoring and troubleshooting skills.
- Good awareness of Database administration skills ( Oracle and Sybase )
- SAN Knowledge, FC Switches and Zoning, Multipath and Volume Mgrs (VxVM, etc)
- Knowledge of basic networking concepts (DNS, SMTP, NTP, VLAN, FW,VPN & SSL)
- Use of Explorer, Enterprise Mgr Grid & OS provisioning automation (Puppet, )
- General security procedures.

Essential for a Systems Integration Engineer:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering discipline or equivalent experience
- Knowledge of industry best practices for supported technologies
