System Engineer (Windows DSC/Puppet)

SYSTEM ENGINEER (WINDOWS DSC/PUPPET)

Our client is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer (Windows DSC/Puppet) for a contract in Rotterdam. As a System Engineer (Windows DSC/Puppet) you will have the following specific knowledge and experience:

- USING PUPPET/MICROSOFT DSC, THE FOLLOWING PROCESSES ARE PERFORMED:

* Set up and manage Windows Application Servers (Prod.);

* Configure IIS

* SQL Database Servers PostGres eg, SQL Server, Oracle (including database backups, scalability, failover, log shipping, permissions.)

* NoSQL harrow RavenDB (including database backups, scalability, failover, log shipping, permissions.)

- Establish and manage Windows software development environments (Dev, Test, Acceptance)
- Establish and manage Windows Continuous Integration environments;

* Octopus;

* TeamCity;

* PowerShell;

* GitHub.

THE SYSTEM ENGINEER (WINDOWS DSC/PUPPET) MUST HAVE GENERAL KNOWLEDGE BELOW:

- Thorough knowledge of Windows;
- There is also at least one clear specialization in the field of Linux, networking, virtualization, databases, and/or storage;
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (puppet, chef and others);
- Experience with IT best practices, including development life cycle, configuration management, deployment of new versions of (system)

software, applications, implementation planning, troubleshooting, monitoring, support;

- Experience with Agile/Scrum is a definite plus.

LOCATION: Rotterdam

CONTRACT: Initial 2 months with option to extend.
