System Engineer (Security)

For our client in the banking sector we are looking for an experienced system engineer with extensive knowledge of securing operating systems.
Start: ASAP
Location: Brussels
Duration: 6 months (possible extension)
Language: English (With good knowledge of Dutch and/or French)
Our clients infrastructure is outsourced to HP. They are responsible for the machines (20 unix, 20 Linux, 160 windows 7) and the security/patching. In this role you will work closely together with HP and be responsible for managing their activities. To properly check this, it is necessary that you have knowledge of all 3 systems, with expert knowledge in windows. In order to eliminate attack surface, you will also be responsible for hardening the OS. Then, continuing the security process, you will assist in patch monitoring to notify them of insecure applications which require patching. Patches will be categorised in, Critical-, high-, medium- or low importance. You won't be responsible for actually installing the patches, this be done by HP.
Task:
Manage monthly vulnerability scans on the Outpost24 HIAB
oManage system inventory
oSchedule vulnerability scans
oFollow-up and re-schedule failed scans
oAnalyze scan reports
oHelp create remediation action plan
oFollow-up remediation with HP and asset owner
oManage communication with Outpost24 for quarterly managed scans
Prepare and follow up penetration tests
oLiaise with asset/application owner and Outpost 24 to set up pen-tests
oFollow-up test preparation
oInterface between Outpost24 and asset owner
oParticipate in pen-test report and remediation analysis
oFollow-up remediation
Manage regular patching
Participate in security incident analysis and resolution
Advise on general security questions
Manage and file security related documentation and reports
