System Engineer

For one of our clients - a major international bank headquartered in Zurich - we are looking for an experienced SYSTEM ENGINEERS (WINDOWS AND UNIX). The team supports the business in calculating and reporting regulatory-significant risk metrics across the full firm (enterprise wide risk).

RESPONSIBILITIES:

-Evaluating, planning and integrating technical infrastructure solutions
-Providing a secure infrastructure environment, production stability and performance
-Analyzing errors in systems and defining corrective measures
-Collaborating with cross-functional teams to work towards global IT solutions
-Providing application maintenance and Level 3 support of the platform
-Assisting users with problems arising from the mathematical tools they are using (Matlab, SAS, R, Stata)

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

SYSTEM ENGINEER WITH UNIX EXPERIENCE

-in-depth experience of UNIX (PREFERABLY SOLARIS) - both as a developer and with knowledge of system administration
-ability to develop and debug scripts in KSH, PERL plus good knowledge of UNIX PACKAGING methods (eg Solaris, RPM)
-several years of experience of ORACLE, SQL, PL/SQL - plus tools such as TOAD
-several years of experience of different UNIX and Windows Scripting languages - with emphasis on KSH, Perl, Python, Powershell, BAT files, VBScript.
-good experience of Windows Server 2008 - both as a developer and with knowledge of system administration
-Active Directory and local/group/domain policy implementation
-filesystem permissioning
-Citrix and Remote Desktop
-knowledge of batch scheduling and automation tools - eg JCS (preferred), Autosys
-experience with mathematical tools like Matlab, SAS, R, Stata
-experience with Subversion and SSH
-fluent in English written and spoken

SYSTEM ENGINEER WITH WINDOWS EXPERIENCE

- In-depth experience of WINDOWS SERVER 2008 - both as a developer and with knowledge of system administration including ACTIVE DIRECTORY and local/group/domain policy implementation
- Knowledge of Scripting languages - WINDOWS BAT, POWERSHELL, VBSCRIPT, PERL
- Windows server Firewall configuration, IPSEC
- Windows server network and routing configuration
- Authentication technology in Windows ie Smartcards
- Windows server clusters - in particular Blade technology
- Windows packaging and deployment - ideally WISE or Orca packaging tool
- Windows Filesystem, San, NAS, Permissioning, STaaS
- Citrix and Remote Desktop
- Several years of experience of Oracle, SQL, PL/SQL - plus tools such as Toad
- Fluent in English written and spoken
