System Engineer

For one of our Client based in Brussels, we are seeking for a System Engineer to join the team to be part of the ICT Infrastructure team that will enable you to deploy and manage server and storage components.

Responsibilities:

Installation, consolidation, upgrading and management of the server park and storage infrastructure
Building and maintaining landscape documentation
Define the necessary operational procedures
Documenting interdependence of the various components (hardware and applications)
Monitoring performance and implementation of improvements (both software and hardware moderate)
Implementation and management of the System Management system
Providing 2nd and 3rd line support at system level

Profile:

You have at least one degree (preferably in computer science).
You have a minimum of 5 years of experience in:
Windows based Server environments: Windows Server 2xxx, Active Directory, Windows Exchange, Sharepoint.
Server virtualization (Focus on HyperV)
Storage virtualization
Experience with SAP landscapes is an advantage
Networking (TCP/IP, WINS, DNS, DHCP, ...)
Servers & storage hardware
Backup equipment and software based on NetBackup technology
Knowledge of other OS platforms (Unix, Linux, Solaris ...) is a plus
Knowledge of ITIL
Basic knowledge of project management
You have insight and interest in the trends in IS
For initiative and good communication skills
You can easily integrate into a team.

Specific to the role in which we want to fit the SE (SCOM & SquaredUp) are these additional competencies:

Technical Requirements:

Proven experience with setting up SCOM2012R2 or higher in large environments according to Microsoft Best Practices.
Proven experience with setting up SquaredUp as a dashboarding solution on top of SCOM2012R2.
Experience with the development of SCOM custom management packs a.v. Visual Studio
Thorough knowledge of group policies & WMI filtering
Thorough knowledge of Powershell Scripting
