SYSTEM ENGINEER
We are currently recruiting for an Experienced System Engineer for a contract position based in Geneva.
YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES WILL BE:
- You will be the point of contact for all aspects of infrastructure and server systems
- Technical support of all users based in Geneva and external sales force
- Setup and installation of desktop equipment when a person or department changes office
- Computer setup and configuration
- Coordinate and support trouble tickets with Cap Gemini helpdesk
- Administrative tasks for procedures and processes
- Priorities, classify and document IT issues within ticketing system
- Investigation and diagnosis of all computer issues locally and over remote control
- Establish infrastructure specifications
- Administration and maintenance of all technical aspects on Infrastructure environment (Server, network)
- Setup and support of telecom equipment (landline, mobile, blackberry, 3G cards)
- Create technical documentations for end-users
- Offer technical training to the business
- Plan, monitor and improve end-user systems and meet their business expectations.
- Enforce global defined security policies
- Manage daily and weekly data backups
- Collaborate in local and global I M projects
- Anticipate potential problems and work closely with line-manager and Global IM processes to prevent and/or resolve issues
THE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE NEEDED FOR THIS POSITION ARE;/FOR THIS POSITION YOU WILL NEED THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE:
- IT qualified system engineer with a recognized certification
- Minimum of 5 years experience as an IT professional
- Excellent knowledge and experience of virtualization VMware
- Windows server 2003/2008
- Lotus Notes, Microsoft operating systems, Microsoft Office and computer hardware.
- Certification in ITIL V2 or V3 Foundation
- Certified MCSE a plus
- Fluent in English
- Ideally French and/or German spoken
- Good awareness of company structures and processes
- Ability to understand complex business economics and offer wisely scaled IT solutions
- Ability to adapt to constant technology changes
- Reliable, stress resistant and able to deliver timely service to the business.
