System Design Engineers (Network)

Duties:
System Design Engineers shall be assigned Full time to work on the project in direct support of the
Technical Lead, and sharing with him/her all responsibilities concerning:
o System Design (through the SDS);
o Interfaces with the Customer's engineering team
The System Design Engineer shall in turn support the Test Director regarding
o Test procedures and acceptance criteria
o Requirements Management for the two areas above

Essential Skills and Experience:
The Skills of System Design Engineers shall be in line with the following skill sets with minimum
proven 5 years of experience in similar effort:
Systems development management:
o Experience in communication with business management, systems development teams
which support the organisation's objectives and plans.
o Experience in Ensuring that management is both aware of and able to provide the
required resources, and that available resources are properly utilised and accounted for.
o Experience with monitoring and reporting on the progress of systems development
projects, using appropriate quality assurance processes to ensure that projects are
carried out in accordance with agreed standards, methods and procedures.

Data Analysis:
o Experience in setting standards for data analysis tools and techniques, advizing on their
application, and ensuring compliance.
o Experience in managing the investigation of corporate data requirements, and coordinating
the application of data analysis and Datamodelling techniques, based upon a
detailed understanding of the corporate information requirements, in order to establish,
modify or maintain data structures and their associated components (entity descriptions,
relationship descriptions, attribute definitions)

Network Design:
o Experience in major aspects of network specification and design within the organisation.
o Expereince in producing network design policies, philosophies and criteria covering
connectivity, capacity, interfacing, security, resilience, recovery, access and remote
access.

Safety Engineering:
o Experience with hazard analysis and risk assessment, safety-related system architectural
design, safety assurance planning and compliance and safety case preparation on
systems up to the highest safety integrity levels.
o Experience withsafety-related aspects of multiple complex or high safety integrity level
projects, providing effective leadership to team members.
