System Debugger (f/m)

For our customer in Munich, Germany we are currently searching for a System Debugger(f/m)

Project Start: January 2016

Project duration: 6 Months+

Location: Munich

Tasks:

* Troubleshoot, investigate and root-cause errors on mobile platforms
* Debug complex embedded systems across modems and application CPUs
* Optimize mobile platforms with respect to data throughput, CPU load, power consumption, memory foot-print (performance optimization)
* Investigate failures of the system integration quality gate test cases
* Contribute to the definition of new platforms with software architecture and development teams
* Review designs and code changes
* Support platform bring-up activities
* Ensure process compliance and proactively improve workflows, best practices and integration tools

Skills:

* Minimum BSc/MSc in Communication Engineering, Software Engineering or similar area of technology
* 5+ years hands-on debugging experience (preferably Lauterbach tool chain)
* Proficient in ARM and IA based embedded systems
* Strong background in telecoms incl. architecture and standards (e.g. 3GPP)
* Clear understanding of basic signaling scenarios on mobile platforms (call and signal flow 2G/3G/4G protocols)
* Solid experience in debugging real-time operating systems as well as Linux drivers and kernel
* Basic knowledge of Android architecture and framework (e.g. telephony frame work, resource manager, activity manager, ...)
* Strong analytical skills. Must be able to collect and analyze software crashes and dumps
* Basic understanding of software development processes with a focus on continuous integration
* Experience in build and configuration management
* Programming experience in C, C++ and Java is considered a plus
* Fluent in English, able to start immediately
