System Analyst

SUMMARY

- The qualified individual will utilize knowledge of informatics to support R&D laboratories through development and maintenance of computer systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Participate in both analysing user requirements/models/specifications and convert them into technical solutions.
- Aid in development, debugging, and testing of home grown technical solutions.
- Aid in the validation of computer systems or hardware processes.

SKILLS:

TECHNICAL SKILLS

- Knowledge of various computer programming languages (primarily LabWare LIMS) including experience with Scripting languages.
- Analytical programming skills in SAS or similar languages is preferred but not required.
- Advanced database (Oracle) skills including knowledge in SQL queries and statements.
- An advanced foundation in the software development life cycle is needed and knowledge of computer programming languages, such as C++, Java, LIMS Basic, SAS, PHP, ColdFusion, and/or other web Scripting languages, is expected.
- Experience with LabWare LIMS (programming subroutines and configuring reports) is ideal.
- Candidate would ideally have been involved in a large scale roll-out or implementation of LabWare LIMS v6.

EDUCATION

- BS/BA in Computer Science or Information Systems, with at least 10 years experience.
- LabWare LIMS training certificates preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
- Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS)
- LIMS/LabWare experience is a must!
