For a project at our client's site, an international bank based in Zurich, we are looking for an experienced
SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR - UNIX/RED HAT LINUX (5312)
In this role, you will support the infrastructure systems and services, to coordinate maintenance activities, as well as to engage in project activities.
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE IN SUPPORTING UNIX-BASED DISTRIBUTED, A LARGE-SCALE COMPUTING ENVIRONMENT
- SOLID UNDERSTANDING OF UNIX-BASED OPERATING SYSTEMS (AT LEAST RED HAT LINUX AND SOLARIS REQUIRED) AND KNOWLEDGE OF VIRTUALIZATION TECHNOLOGIES (VMWARE)
- Skills with at least two of the following products are mandatory:
- Red Hat Satellite
- Veritas Storage Foundation
- Veritas Cluster Server
- Red Hat Cluster Suite
- Sun Cluster
- EXPERT TROUBLESHOOTING SKILLS and a solid understanding of TCP/IP Networking
- Very good Scripting skills (SHELL, PYTHON, PERL)
- Knowledge of software configuration management tools (preferably Puppet), version control systems (preferably Git), and unattended provisioning systems (Kickstart, Jumpstart)
- EXCELLENT VERBAL AND WRITTEN COMMUNICATION SKILLS IN ENGLISH
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide third level support for Red Hat Linux and Oracle Solaris in a distributed server environment, liaising with regional counterparts
- Drive for automating repetitive tasks and implementing automation on a global scale
- Communicate and collaborate with other internal partners for designing, planning and coordination of implementation to ensure work is completed in a timely manner
- Write technical documentation for related infrastructure, which includes, but is not limited to, the following technologies:
- Red Hat Linux, Oracle Solaris
- Clustering (VCS, RHCS, SC),
- Unix storage stack (filesystems and volume managers - LVM, xFS, ZFS, ASM, NFS)
- Storage technologies (SAN, NAS)
- Naming services (LDAP, DNS, NIS)
- Kerberos, NTP
- Participate in the on-call rota
- Participate in weekend and evening work
