System Administrator II

Yoh has a contract opportunity for a SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR II to join our client in Beachwood, OH.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Assume technical responsibility for design and implementation of Enterprise Application Infrastructure.
- Analyze functional requirements and architect state-of-the-art, well-integrated, and cost-effective application infrastructure solutions.
- Communicate highly technical aspects of architecture and integration effectively in a customer-consulting role.
- Participate with other groups such as Infrastructure Services, E-business, Corporate Systems, and business community to provide ongoing operational and project status.
- Ability to clearly communicate technical solutions or problems to all levels of the business is a key to success in this function.
- Ensure delivery of a scalable Application Server infrastructure that fits with business needs across applications, technologies, and facilities.
- Perform and define technical scope and objectives of Enterprise Architecture infrastructure implementation projects.
- Manage project deliverables, milestones, and required tasks, adhering to business-critical timelines.
- Prepare infrastructure implementation reports for Enterprise Architecture, multiple levels of management, clients, and customers.
- Consult with infrastructure operations, development personnel, and support teams to provide technical advice and to resolve problems.
- Maintain disaster recovery plans, processes, and procedures necessary to recover services in the event of a declared disaster.
- Perform work at the highest technical level with an in-depth understanding of system performance configuration and tuning techniques.

Job Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree from accredited institution.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in IT.
- Individuals who excel in this role are self-starting, team players able to work with little to no direction.
- Must have a proficiency in Linux, Solaris, or HPUX operating system environments.
- Must understand J2EE concepts and technologies: JSP, Servlets, EJBs, JMS, Web Services, SSL, JDBC, JNDI, load-balancing, session clustering and Service Oriented Architecture.
- Must have proficiency with Oracle WebLogic, Red Hat JBoss Enterprise Application Platform, Apache Tomcat, and Apache HTTP Server.
- Experience in all of these technologies is not mandatory, but experience with more than one of the above listed technologies is required.
- Must have experience with Oracle Directory Server Enterprise Edition (ODSEE), Oracle Unified Directory (OUD), and Oracle Internet Directory (OID). Experience with Oracle Virtual Directory and Oracle Directory Integration Platform is a plus.
- Familiarity with architecture to support Oracle Fusion applications is a plus.
- Experience with Oracle Application Server is desirable.
- Must have experience in UNIX Shell Scripting and Perl Programming.
- Working knowledge of troubleshooting application performance issues using tools like CA APM, Oracle OEM, Java tools, and commercial debuggers/profilers.
- Working knowledge of UNIX system performance tuning and its implications on applications.
- Ability to solve problems independently, quickly, and completely, and to communicate them clearly to peers, customers, and upper management.
- Ability to develop, present, and champion proposals and technical documents to diverse individuals within all levels of the organization.
- Ability to effectively adapt to rapidly changing technology and apply it effectively to business needs.
- Strong customer focus and management of customer expectations. The ability to establish and maintain a high level of user trust and confidence with our customer base is key.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with multiple teams to solve problems.
- Ability to weigh various suggested technical solutions against business needs and choose the most effective solution, given technical merits, cost considerations, and manageability.
- Experience as a leader of large-scale, highly-complex infrastructure projects
- Able to deal with the stress of diverging interests within the same immediate time-frame
- Experience with Project Management methodologies including: managing multiple projects, time management, work breakdown, building project plans, and proper communication on deliverables and milestones.
