System Administrator - CHEF

Whitehall Resources are currently recruiting for a System Administrator (CHEF) for a project with one of our clients based in Belgium.

Job Spec:

Professional who specialises in automation development with Chef. You will work with the operational team and the project team to build and maintain compliancy checks and automate business as usual operational tasks/processes.

Context:

Windows (90%) and Linux server, vitalisation, Exchange, Datacentre, monitoring, patching, endpoint security, server security, network security, worldwide WAN

Key responsibilities :

- Design & Implement automation using Chef
- Follow up changes with operation.
- Develop and publish operational guides (user guides)
- Maintenance of the automation including troubleshooting
- Design, test & validate the implementation
- Report the risks and challenges found during implementation
- Interact with the operational teams

Technical Skills:

- Good command of Chef
- Good command of red Hat satellite.(2003- 2016)
- Good command of Ruby DSL
- Understanding of Windows Active Directory principles.
- Understanding of the network principles (routing, switching, VLAN, Firewall, protocol)
- Understanding of PowerShell Scripting principles
- Microsoft Office products (Office 2010/2016).

Standard requirements:

Secondary school (12 years education) diploma/certificate of completion is required
ITIL v.3 Foundation certification is a requirement of the contract and needs to be obtained, at the latest, 3 months after the start date.
At least one technical certification (besides ITIL) in their area of expertise.
Mandatory Certification (At least one besides ITIL):
- Operating systems and datacentre
- Microsoft Server Infrastructure Certifications (MCSE)
- Linux redHAT (RHCSA, RHCE, RHCJD, RHCJA)
- Data centre Vitalisation:
- VMWare 4/5/6 (VCA, VCP,VCAP, VCDX)
- Hyper-V (MCITP)
- NetAPP (NCSA,NCDA,NCIE)
- DevOps Foundation - Linux & Windows
