System Administrator 2nd Level Windows & ESX Server Platform

SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR 2ND LEVEL WINDOWS & ESX SERVER PLATFORM

This is a long term contract opportunity for an experienced System administrator to work within a Global financial organization in Zurich.

THE START DATE IS JANUARY 2015.

TASKS:

- Installation of System Servers based on installation manual
- Lifecycle management of Windows Servers based on defined processes and steps
- Lifecycle management of ESX Servers based on defined processes and steps
- 2nd level support Windows and ESX infrastructure
- Operation of the software distribution for server systems with Altiris
- Configuration management Microsoft Windows 2008R2, 2012R2 and HP HW based on defined processes
- Change management Windows OS and HP HW based on defined processes
- Review delivered packages and documentation
- Installation on test system
- Basic shakedown testing of new packages
- Implement changes
- Install changes on production environment
- SPOC for various Application responsibles

SKILLS REQUIRED:

- Solid Windows Know How and years of experience in virtualisation technology
- Experienced Windows, ESX server administrator (at least 5 years experience)
- ESX 5/5.5 Infrastructure skills
- Change process know-how and experience
- Scripting know-how and experience preferred (Basic understanding of Powershell 2.0 & 3.0)
- ITIL know-how mandatory
- SAN Infrastructure Know How preferred
- Good knowledge of Active Directory
- Storage experience (HDS/EMC)
- Good knowledge of Altiris (Software distribution)
- Strong background with Windows Server W2K8 R2/W2K12 R2
- Good knowledge vCenter 5
