JOB SUMMARY:

Under minimal supervision, the Systems Administrator is responsible for the systems administrative functions and technical support of the company's application, hardware and supporting technologies. The Systems Administrator performs technical support and maintenance of company technologies including Microsoft, SQL Server, Linux, Cisco, VMware, and .NET. Additionally, this position coordinates with customers, vendors, and business resources to resolve complex technical issues and ensures overall system health, data security, and system integrity.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Work with key stakeholders, various vendors, and IT management to understand business and systems requirements.
- Recommend design solutions to meet business requirements.
- Monitor performance of technical infrastructure (software and hardware) and provide recommendations for technology upgrades and replacements.
- Design, implement, and manage network server software and hardware.
- Design, implement, and monitor security controls.
- Determine appropriateness of system changes or modifications.
- Supervise the activities of on-site vendors or technicians.
- Conduct daily security monitoring activities.
- Provide technical support and user training for all activities.
- Prepare technical reports and instructional manuals.
- Keep up-to-date on new emerging technologies.
- Coordinate small to medium size projects.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- High School Diploma or GED
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, MIS, or any Engineering field, or MIS preferred Four years directly relevant experience
- Detailed knowledge and experience with:
- Microsoft Windows Server technologies
- MS SQL Server Databases
- MS Deployment Server
- Active Directory
- VMware virtual infrastructure environment
- Remote Desktop Tools
- TCP/IP and its use in a LAN/WAN/MAN environment
- Cisco voice and/or data networking platforms
- NetApp storage and/or SAN storage platforms
- Server hardware platforms.
- A+ certification
- Cabling
- VB and .NET programming knowledge to troubleshoot and enhance in house written applications
- Must possess a valid driver's license and be qualified to operate a vehicle under the conditions of the Safe Driving Policy
- Time management, analytical, project management, and organizational skills
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet strict deadlines
- Good working knowledge of various infrastructure technologies, communication protocols, and networking operating systems
- Ability to learn new applications
- Excellent written and oral communication skills as well as listening skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Must be able to provide effective change-management skills with regard to technology upgrades that will effectuate change to support the client goals
- Lead position to provide guidance and instruction to IT support team

PHYSICAL EFFORT: Sitting, talking, repetitive use of hands/arms/legs, ability to lift up to 35 lbs.

TRAVEL: Occasional travel required up to 15% of time
