Sybase/SQL Server Developer - English Speaking Contract in Zurich

For a global bank based here in Zurich we are searching for a Sybase Developer to join the team.

The Job:

- Develop and maintain Sybase database queries and stored procedures
- Develop and maintain data feeds to downstream systems and processing of feeds from upstream systems
- Develop and maintain batch jobs written in Linux and Perl scripts
- Provide 3rd level support to end users and 1st/2nd level support team
- Maintenance and documentation of database schema
- Documentation of batch jobs and processes
- Development and maintenance of reports and Crystal reporting templates
- Help capture business requirements in the form of User Stories
- Support the test team in testing activities
- Collaborate with off-shore IT development team based in Poland
- Work directly with Business users at all levels on small projects such as report development and enhancements

Essentials Skills and Qualifications:

- EXPERT KNOWLEDGE OF SYBASE ASE OR MS SQLSERVER AS A DEVELOPER (NOT A DBA)
- Ability to performance tune SQL queries and stored procedures
- Good working knowledge of Linux Shell and Perl Scripting languages
- Fluent in English

Nice to have:

- Knowledge of Crystal Reports
- Previous experience of developing IT projects within a banking firm
- Knowledge of Securities Lending, Repo and Collateral trading
- Prior experience of JIRA
- Agile project delivery
- .Net C# or VisualBasic knowledge would be advantageous too
