SYBASE/MS SQL ADMINISTRATOR

On behalf of our client, a leading global company within finance, we are looking for a SYBASE/MS SQL ADMINISTRATOR. For this contract position based in Zürich in Switzerland our client is looking for an English speaking candidate who can start as soon as possible. Your main responsibilities will be:

- Configuring, managing and maintaining Sybase/SQL Servers
- Own, track and resolve database-related incidents and requests within the SLA's
- Analyse and implement performance tuning
- Provide on-call support and shift work for production databases

The skills and experience needed for this position are:

- 5+ years' experience with Sybase/MSSQL Server in a production environment
- Knowledge of Sybase ASE 15.x, Sybase Replication Server 15.x, MS SQL Server 2005/2008/2012
- Experience in performance tuning, query optimization, performance monitoring and tuning
- Experience with Profiler and other monitoring and troubleshooting tools, Failover Cluster, and Database Mirroring
- Strong TSQL skills including stored procedure and function creation and optimization
- Experience in SQL Server Reporting Services installation, configuration and report creation
- Experience in SQL Server Integration Services package creation and deployment as well as DTS to SSIS migration
- Knowledge of other RDBMS
- Experience with cloud solutions such as Microsoft Azure
- Sound knowledge of Windows Server OS(2008,2012),clustering and virtualization, Solaris and Redhat Linux
- Basic understanding of financial products is a plus
