Sybase Developer

SYBASE DATABASE DEVELOPMENT - The primary goal of the project is to upgrade existing Sybase databases to the latest version while maintain or improving system performance. To that extent, his role will be part of the Market Data team responsible for upgrading existing Sybase 12.5 stored procedures to Sybase 15.

The project lead and analyst will provide specifications, procedural outlines, and unit test plans to insure that existing system integrity is maintained. Recurring meetings will be scheduled by the IT project lead to review progress and problems related to the job.

Responsibilities/Duties:

- Will work with IT project lead to independently develop and implement the system modifications
- Produces technical documentation and designs and tests systems and/or systems changes accurately to insure system efficiency, integrity, productivity and maintainability
- Maintains per and post test results to demonstrate accuracy of modifications

Competencies:

- Proven capabilities as Sybase developer, 3-5 years creating and maintaining stored procedures
- Prefer 1-2 years experience with Sybase 15
- Demonstrates proficiency in systems analysis of business requirements and design considerations
- Knowledge of Client Server concepts, (3 tier architecture concepts preferred), and GUI development concepts not required but will be considered a extra benefit
