Sybase DBA - English Speaking Contract in Zurich

For a global bank based here in Zürich we are looking for a Senior Sybase DBA to join the team.

THE JOB:

In this role you are responsible for technical management and coordination of issues and projects primarily involving installation, configuration and on-going administration tasks of Sybase databases and partly MS-SQL databases. You take actively part in the resolution of system and performance issues and work closely with other team members locally and globally to provide understanding across all components of the database environments. In an additional function you provide advice and assistance in terms of developing and progressing the infrastructure environments, including the assessment of needs and recommend solutions in an Enterprise IT.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR CANDIDATES WITH:

- AT LEAST THREE YEARS' EXPERIENCE OF SYBASE ASE DATABASE AND SYBASE REPLICATION SERVER ADMINISTRATION IDEALLY WITHIN THE FINANCIAL SECTOR
- Knowledge of UNIX/Linux operating system
- Good SQL and basic Scripting language (Perl, Shell) knowledge
- Positive is experience knowledge of Sybase Replication Server/Sybase IQ
- Experience with MS SQL Server 2005/2008
- Nice to have: Any experience with Patrol and Control-M
- Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
- Manage issues and problems through to resolution
- Willed to work in a shift-model
- Fluency English
